a conversation I and an internet friend had:

HER (to no one in particular): ......who am I....really? Does anyone really know?



ME: You are a figment of my imagination



HER: why am i a figment of ur imagination???



ME: What is real? What is reality? do we all live in a dream? the imagination of a child? or are we all dreaming? is reality as we know it, and all the people within it, just our imagination, a dream that we may soon wake up from? if we do wake up what will happen? If I were to wake up, would you vanish as if you never existed? or are our dreams interconnected like some telepathic role-play.

what makes real real? is it the world as society concieves it? the world as the individual sees it? or is it something more?



HER: ahh i see i managed to catch u on a day where ur dreams are possibly ur reality but ur reality might not be ur dreams. perhaps the world we concieve as it is in not a dream but a nightmare and when we wake up its the same but better!! also if that is the case where is reality and where do we drew the line between imaginatipon and reality!!

i am a figment of ur imagination as we have never met but on some level i am also real!!! wouldnt that be truth in itself?



ME: Ah but truth is not based on logic, but common consensus, though it may vary in each individual.

Truth and logic are two completely different entities and yet Society links them together, making them one. So, in truth, you maybe real, because a group of people sees you as real. They all "know" that you are real. Logically, to them, this is truth.

However, in the perspective of someone who has not had any contact with you, you do not exist, or atleast you do not "fully exist. The less contact an individual has with a person, the less he/she will percieve that person to be real. The reality of that person, how real they may percieve themselves to be, fades away into "almost" nothingness. In theory.

However it wouldn't be prudent of me to say that a person can just "blink out of existence" as they still percieve themselves to be real. however, they become "less real"

what is real? what is a dream? perhapes the two are more interconnected then many are willing to believe.
